So, I was having a drink at a local bar talking to an ex-Reagan Admin Official who happened to teach at my undergrad back in the 70s and then I saw something extraordinary. CNN was actually taking Jaime Rubin's claims about McCain and Hamas to task. Remember Rubin was in the Clinton Administration and supporter of Mrs. Clinton but in 2006 I guess he was a reporter for Sky News and interviewed McCain about Hamas. Well, Rubin wrote a piece in the the WAPO calling McCain a hypocrite, but CNN has now question that claim. CNN asked Rubin for the transcript and not just the snippets of film proving his claim. Mr. Rubin could not provide it, I wonder why. CNN then produced an interview a couple days after the Rubin's interview where McCain stated conditions to have talks with Hamas. Interesting McCain says conditions, Obama says no conditions, but Obama's Media and Democrats say McCain is hypocrite. Remember folks Obama said he would negotiate without conditions, just look at the debate video, but liberal media will never look at that, would they?

Oh, hey Carter how bout them Hamas acknowledging the existence of Israel. They acknowledged them alright by launching a rocket attack on a mall. You fucking coward Carter nice talking to terrorist and giving them validity.

P.S. I was playing name that Republican and realized the cards must have been written by liberals. Although some have said some very nasty things, I wonder if they would say what Sen. Bird has said about people of different colors and his one time Grand Wizard of the KKK. No, they could never say anything bad about him or his never voting for a Black Supreme Court justice.

Well, Obama and the Democrats must feel guilty about something or maybe the truth hurts. Bush mentions a Senator who stated maybe if I talked to Hitler he would not invaded Poland and immediately Obama believes the President took a swipe at him. Maybe he did, but interesting how quickly Obama tried to deflect and twist his positions. He did say in the debate he would talk to terrorists without conditions.

Now the vanguard of the Democratic Party and plagiarizer in chief, Biden, are trying to confuse and distort the issue with the aid of the media. Not one question from the media on any of the validity statements from the Democrats. Remember it was these same Democrats blaming Bush for not negotiating with North Korea, Libya, or Iran. They said the Bush Administration are a bunch of hypocrites, but I don't see it. The administration and McCain have always wanted conditions on meeting with these ruthless leaders. One condition was the 6 party talks with N. Korea to involve the regional powers. Korea demanded only talks with US and Democrats were pushing for it because that type of unilateral discussion/decision was fine, although would affect everyone in the region. Now the Democrats are trying to distort as they always do. I think I'm angry because when it is a Republican making statements the media will question the speaker, but when it is a Democrat will turn a blind eye.

I pretty much cannot stand Chris Matthews and his grandstanding, but I love his interview of an Obama supporter.

It is easy for a man that has not taking a stand to criticize his opponents on at least voting for laws they believe will help Americans. His populist message will resonant in economically depressed areas, but ask yourselves what did he do in Illinois and what has he done in the US Senate than platitudes from his olive oil voice. What legislation has he proposed to help out workers and the poor?

A true leader takes a stand, right or wrong, and this man did not in Illinois when partial birth abortion and parental consent. Although a supporter of pro-abortion, he chose not to represent his district by just being present. He claimed he provided cover for other politicians by not giving Republicans sound bites for the 2004 election. Huh, I thought he was a different politician taking stands for his constituents, I guess I was wrong he already knew how to play the Potomac Two Step that he learned doing Springfield Trot. No matter how much he claims to be different and a uniter from his limited legislative accomplishments and promises, I just see another hypocritical politician.

On a side note, most of my friends cannot believe I'm defending Clinton against Obama, but although I don't agree with her politics, I will respect a person that takes a stand. Obama's pathos is to act presidential, appear to be different, attack where others have taking a chance and failed and maybe, just maybe no one will question what have you done to solve problems.

A little after midnight on Tuesday I received news of my friend's death. After two years of suffering from colon cancer he finally passed away and is no longer in pain. Although I expected his death, I was still taking back because I thought I would have one last chance to say goodbye, but unfortunately I did not.

His brother has been a true saint taking care of him first in NYC and then in our hometown. It was in May when I was in NYC that I knew he was going to die and it was in that same place I was informed of his passing. K had been there for him from his first bout with cancer and then for his final battle, taking him on walks through Central Park to getting ice cream. He was there when F was in the hospital and he was there right to the end. K overcome with emotion could not inform his friends and his brother's friends of his death, it was up to our good friend to relay the sad message. Even as I write this I have tears coming to my eyes knowing F will no longer be with us. Knowing he will never bring up my wine debacle in London or my Scotch incident at Christmas and knowing that his young life was full of promise. Good bye my friend, may God bless your soul.

Well, I know I have not posted in awhile, but have been pretty busy. Last night I arrived home from my 8000 mile journey in two days from the West Coast to Tejas and now back in good old DC. A few minutes after I arrived, I called my aunt and she asked if I read my e-mail. I told her no. I just got off the plane and I'm heading to the gym. What she told me next was unbelievable.

I know that some of my family lives in Wyoming, but were intending to go to the Cape (Cod) the day after Friday the 13th. As some of you know on Friday the 13th a military sharp shooter killed his wife while she was on stage. When I heard he was evading the authorities I called my cousin just to see if they knew him and that he was not seen in their area. I never did get an in contact until next Friday. My cousin did not mention the shooting to me.

I knew my uncle was in a country band. He has always been in a band even when he served over seas. My aunt told me that the singer that was killed was my uncle's singer and that my uncle was just a foot away when she was assassinated. Nobody in my family bothered to tell me and I really did not notice him on the news channels. I just get sick of hearing how screwed up our society is and focus on financial channels, sports and cartoons. The herd of the evening news is just to depressing

Thanks to technology I have been able to see my uncle's interviews and the comments posted. One woman wrote that my uncle had a glimmer in his eye of glee. Obviously, through a two dimensional device with just a minute or two this woman was qualified to judge my uncle and what he felt when he leaned over to see half the head of his band member removed from the shot. I don't know, but glee is not one of those emotions. He might look that way, but trust me he cared tremendously for her and her orphaned children. So, to the lady who posted that comment I would suggest hold your comments until you know a person. An for that beautiful singer God rest her soul and look over her children.

For the past couple of day reports have come out how "progressives" want to enact legislation to limit talk radio. First, "progressive" really means thought controling communists as most are on the extreme left. Second, the reason why the want to limit talk radio is because it is dominated by conservatives. This becomes a danger to the mind controling democrats because they are unable to control the message the is sent to the masses.

It really is a design to limit the conservative message and nothing more. Recently, a Senator claimed to hear Boxer and Clinton talking about regulating the air waves because of the right wing conservatives. They stick to their ignorance and not realize demonation of the air waves by conservatives is market driven. They don't look at the numbers where liberal and conservative shows were in the same market (including in liberal bastions)to see the audience is larger for conservative shows.

Why is it noboby on the left is protesting but instead advocating for it. Oh, that is right because the views of conservatives don't reflect your own, so, who cares. When government gets involved to regulate speech that is a problem. Some might say it is regulating distribution and not content, but let's look to the reason for legislation now. The dominance of conservative shows is market driven. I guess the Dems want to socialize everything including thought.

I waiting for the liberals to stand up to this intrusion into speech that is blantly to control content. What is that a cricket? I thought so.

A Winter in the Summer

Last week I was on business in NYC and visited my friend. I usually arrive a day early to check into the hotel and head to his and his brothers place on upper East Side. However, this time was different because I would see his brother for the very first time since his surgery. The timing was good he arriving by subway and I by taxi meeting at the same time at his door.

We walked in and his mother yelled my name asking why I was in town. Just business I told her, but K and I will be going for a run around the park. As I walked into the living room I see the body of half a man. A million thoughts ran through my head as I looked upon a my friend's brother sitting in a chair with a blanket in the sweltering heat because he is cold. Despite being humid, he request another blanket because he was cold. When I heard that I had to turn away because a tear came to my eye and the memory of a similar request from my dying grandfather.

While C and his mom went for a walk, K and I ran around the park. He told me to take it easy as he has not been running much. I kind of figured since he was taking care of C. The conversation and what was not said revealed so much. Everyone has hope that C will survive, but all know that it is very difficult road.

As I said goodbye to everyone, I told C he better be healthy next time I come back. I know some will take that statement as callous, but you did not grow up in Mass and realize you never let up on your friends no matter what their condition. C I pray for you and your family daily.

THE BIG C

About 18 months ago a friend of mine was diagnosed with a very rare but curable type of colon cancer. The doctor after surgery said that he was 99% sure he got most of the cancer. I said no doctor can be absolutely sure he got all the cancer. As my friend lost tons of weight and religiously received his chemo everything appeared fine. Well, until another friend told me what was going on.

I guess the chemo did not work and the cancer came back. His brother did not want to tell everyone because rumors would get started. He had been seeing a doctor in DC for awhile. Saturday he went through his second operation and on Sunday I called his brother to see how the surgery went. The first words were: "It did not go well." They could not get all the cancer because how close it was to the liver and a major artery. Now, we can only hope the chemo will work this time. I told him he and his family were in my prayers and thoughts. We must think positively, especially his brother.

However, having witness three people die from cancer two very young with so much to give to this world and the other in his twilight who shared his life stories with me as I grew up, I can only think of the worst. I pray for the best, but suspect the worst will come in a year or two. All I know is it is up to his medical care and God.

Water, Water, Water, Every Where And Not A Drop To Drink!!!!

Usually, on the weekends and one day a week I station myself at a Starbucks and read a book. Well, over the past couple of weeks with the news and Al Gore saying the world is going to end, I noticed Starbucks contribution to the worlds problem of Potable water with Ethos. If you buy Ethos a precentage of the proceeds will go to help the 3rd world sustain drinkable water.

Now, comes the hypcorisy. As I wait for for my drink, the one thing that comes to my attention is Starbucks constantly has the water running. This is not an isolated incident at just one store, I have seen this at five stores now. There is no way that the water is recycled and resuse because that would bring up health issues that I'm sure they don't want a health inspector to check out. The conculsion I have come to is Starbucks wastes gallons upon gallons of water while they sell their Ethos portraying a good corporate image they care about drinkable water.

Just like Al Gore preaching the use of the less engergy (reducing carbon emissions) to everyone else besides his palatial estates usage (more in one month that the avg American Family in a year) Starbucks says it helps the third world water problem, but wastes it in its own operations. It might be a practice taken on by the individual franchises, but you would think corporate would send a directive stating water should not be left running. So, next time in Starbucks buy an Ethos water and raise it to Starbucks and toast the Barista and say "this is in hopes that all will not waste this precious commodity called water."

A Consensus On Global Warming!!!?

As I was watching TV this statment irked me: scientists have reached a consensus that humans cause global warming. I'm not saying that humans don't contribute to global warming, but when did the search for truth become a democratic process on which side gets the most votes. It appears from what I have read that global warming is cyclcical and the debate is how much does human behavior contribute to this effect. Until, then the alarmist can keep citing the many, while I wait for the undisputed truth. After all, if a hundred scientist agree the world is flat, but one scientist says the world is round it does not matter the hundred agree the Earth is flact because the one is right.

I've just finished Joseph Ellis' "His Excellency" a book about George Washington's life. I found the book well written and concise. Ellis' books are great because it allows you to see what motivates the men of history including Washington. I would definitely recommend this book and Ellis' "Founding Brothers".

I can only thank God that I was tired and recovering from my sickness, because if I was my regular self I would have been in an intersection be killed by a speeding black SUV. As I waited at the stop light I looked south noticing a sedentary police car with flashing lights. I then focused on the walk lights to determine when the light would turn green when I noticed the tan SUV heading east. I look see the light is green and see this black SUV speeding north.

Just like a spectator at NASCAR waiting for a crash, I too was watching for the inevitable. The black SUV was attempting to make the yellow light, but failed. He hit the tan SUV and came with in a foot of my vehicle before hitting the pole. The tan SUV kept spinning out of control hitting the median and then stopped within a foot of my car. I kept saying please don't hit my car which the main vehicle did not, but bits and pieces did.

After I just proceeded on my way. At first the rush of adrenaline hit me then I was thinking I should have stayed to see if they needed help. However, anger hit me because the black SUV in status vehicle, probably leased, was in a hurry and in doing so caused and accident. I don't think I would ever help someone that caused harm to another and themselves, plus the fine law enforcement down the street would be quick to react, well I hope they would be quick to react.

A good friend of mine keeps asking to workout with me and go on vacation. I told him that going to the gym is my time that allows me to clear my mind and I would not mind going on vacation. However, I love vacation, but sometimes when I'm on vacation I just like to relax by the pool or beach having a drink. It reminds me of this from Henry David Thoreau:

" I find it wholesome to be alone

Although we are sociable by nature, we always need time to ourselves.

The Balance of Power

Tuesday Night, I was quickly looking over I believe the Congressional Quarterly and one of the articles was the mostly probable scenario for Republicans to come to power is if one of the Democratic Senators would die and a Republican Governor would have to appoint a new Senator. At this time the scenario would not work for say Hawaii nor Massachusetts because in Hawaii the governor is required to appoint a senator from the party of the previous senator and in MA the legislature will appoint.

Then on Wednesday I learn that Tim Johnson of South Dakota had stroke like symptoms. Today, he is in critical condition recovering from brain surgery. I don't recall if he was mentioned in the article and would not think so because he was so young. As a compassionate person, my prayers are with him and his family for a full recovery. As a political junkie, I believe the Republican need to learn their lesson out of power, after all they did not do what they promised.

One thing that stands out is the hypocrisy of the media. Many pundits point out the Republican Governor only won by a slim margin as if that makes a difference he is now in power. Some say he might chose a Democrat because of his electoral situation. As I recall, no leftist media suggested this to the Democratic Governor in Georgia when Republican Senator Coverdale died, but then again I bet they regretted he appointed, "Give The Hell Zell" Miller.

1. Taliban - by Ahmed Rashid - A mostly unbias account of the power struggle and constant warfare in Afghanistan. Hey, if the guy is hated by both sides, I think he must be doing his job at presenting the truth.

2. Shelby Steele's article in Fridays Wall St Journal is an excellent account of the world's struggle against militant Islam and the failure of America's resolve as the lone super power to the lead on the world to victory.

3. America's national security - I know the security people at a particular military building were being nice letting me in out of the freezing cold to make a call, but they should not reveal who visited the building. I don't recall how we got on the topic, but after a few minutes I figured out it was Prince Faisal and his entourage. I wonder what that was about.

The Gym

I truly love working out. I'm not one of those narcissistic people that works out during all my free time. The running is very cathertic and clears my mind after a long day of work. It also allows me to enjoy the eye candy that I see. My rule is never bother anyone at the gym, everyone is there to perform their regime and go home.

Sometimes, the gym provides a jovial moment such as the other day. As I finished up lifting, I was about to take a shower, but someone was right in front of my locker. As I walked around waiting and hoping I could get in soon I noticed he was laughing very quietly. I then saw why he was laughing. This big naked guy had toliet paper hanging out of his Grand Canyon. Right there I started to laugh and had to walk out.

When I came back in I asked the guy, did Mr. Grand Canyon notice the toliet paper? He said no, it just fell off and is right there on the ground. We both agreed it was gross and laughed some more. On my way I out I informed the staff to tell the cleaning people they should use gloves when picking up the floor in the men's locker room and even told them why. Honestly people how ca n you not know it is there.

More Words: It was good to see some of my friends while others our schedules did not match up. I now realize why I have a policy when the temperature goes below sixty I will not run outside. It is because the cold air kills my lungs and causes me to build up mucus. Although I have this policy, my friend go me to run around Central Park and do sprints with him after. After I felt I had a cold pit in my throat not to mention the next day I felt sick and did not want to work out after work. However, instead I proceeded to do shots with the head honchos that lead to an awesome dinner.

The other thing I realized is this world is truly small. If you are in a certain field or reached a certain position in life you start meeting so many people. While I was up in NYC, I meet people that know some of my friends and vice versa.

I had a wonderful Thanksgiving at my friend's house. He prepared an awesome feast, while, switched back and forth from the football games and the James Bond Marathon on Spike. Friday I had a big smile at work and everyone was asking why. I had no response, but deep inside I knew something was confirmed on Wednesday. A calm fell over me after a long difficult stormy game was played. It all came to a head Wednesday when I was nearly jumped because some self absorbed, inconsiderate, and insecure Texan mentioned he was going to have some guys beat me up. I don't know if the two aholes that tried to jump me did so on the Texan's suggestion, but I don't believe in coincidences. Just as Don Corelone, said in the Godfather when he was making sure Michael returned home safely, "If something should happen to my son, I'm going to blame some of the people in this room." Just as what happened to me I don't believe it was an accident and the Texan in the room certainly revealed his true self. The question is do I seek revenge or just let it go. I'm leaning towards just letting it go.

that all of sudden, you say to yourself what the "hell" am I doing. As I lie here in my bed looking out my window wondering when the last red leaf will fall, I asked myself what do I want to do in life. Ever since I was a little kid everyone knew I was going to be a lawyer. I always wanted to be prosecutor, but the economics of the situation changed and so did my desire to be a slave to my work. It is interesting at the times in which we find ourselves reflecting on our lives.

For me it was a week ago that I was with my high school friends at on e of the last weddings of the group. It was great seeing all of them and the success they have in their lives and the expansion of their families. Great seeing their friends from college, especially the one that was on the front page of the Wall St Journal (Let's just say his wife might want to move from their town after I was talking and I do mean their town) As I was sitting at my table while most were on the dance floor, a sense of joy and sadness emerged. The joy was because of the above knowing my friends were happy in their lives and the sadness...... well I will keep that to myself. I've already heard enough about it.

So, twice in a span of week I now question the path I have set out for myself. Will I obtain my goals. My very nature is cautious as evidence that a lawyer never asks a question he does not already know the answer to. Is it time for me to take chances in order to be were I want to be in life. I'm already in my early thirties and I feel I need to accelerate certain things in my life. I just have to take the risk. No, I know I have to take the risk and invest some of my capital. Yes, the post is cryptic but then again I'm not the easy to follow.

P.S. Why does it seem that I always meet people from Texas? And why are most them hot and nice? I think they were raised to proper southern gentlemen.

I voted for the Republicans because I fear the Democratic policies will weaken our resolve to fight terror and the economy. I also voted against the Marriage Amendment because it banned absolutely any government entity within Virginia from recognizing a union that would give the benefits of marriage to same sex couples.

Interesting that 4 years ago when I was taking my bar exam a similar questioned came up. Back then I followed what the law stated, today I'm attempting to change the hearts and mines of the majority of Virginians.

If your are concern about the policies of government and are properly informed then go vote. Stop bitching and spouting hatred. As a republic your voice is reflected in the representatives that we vote for.

Some observations:

1. Why is there always a movement to limit our voting rights by having term limits ? After all incumbents are elected by a majority of the voting public. If you don't like the candidate don't vote for them instead of making a parental law to limit the choices for you.
2. Why is it the opposition to this administration can not understand that Bush was elected by a majority of the American People. He was not elected by the plurality but majority, so, when you make complaints that they don't represent the majority, again, he was elected by the majority of the voting public.
3. I find that we are not progressing to an open society that can discuss the issues, but must vilify the messenger without listening to the message. Everyone has some valid and good points. We must come consensus and enacted the best laws possible.

MaF54 - Is it real a sex scandal?

I don't know, but if someone was Iming with MaF54 and I did not know who it was I would not respond. What Congressman Foley did was wrong, so far, not legally but morally and ethically. He used his position of trust and power to gain information about pages and then pursued to engage in lewd communication after.
The interesting thing is the media makes out to a sex scandal which it is not. The sex scandal with pages happened back in 1983. Congressman Gary Studds had sex with a 17 year old page, a teenager that the trusted him and had sex with. I don't know working for someone in power and maybe feeling compelled to have sex might be consider sexual harassment.

However, what happen to Studds, nothing, but a censure. There were no calls for Speaker of the House Tip O'Neill to step down not by the media nor his constituents. Interesting how about six year later another sexual scandal emerges from a Massachusetts Congressman, but again only censure and not calls for dismissal or resignation.

Was there a cover up I don't know? If the Republican's forced Foley to resign based on the initial Im's, Republicans would have been accused of anti-gay. When the more lurid Im's came to light, Foley was forced to resign. I never did see that happen when I was a kid growing up to Massachusetts to the two Congressman caught in a real sex scandal.

The other backlash now is the media is trying to portray a putsch is going on in the Republican ranks to get all gays out by circulating a document with names of Republican gays. Some in the America will believe this is true, however, for those that don't know the list was created by ultra-liberal Democrats that wanted to out all Republican gays back during the 2004 election. Now, Democrats see an opportunity and are sending out this list to all conservative groups saying it is Republicans. How stupid are they? Do they not realizet people can trace the meta -data and where the e-mails originate, but you will not hear this through the media.

The Republicans are not perfect, but when they do something wrong it is widely disseminated. When Democrats do something wrong, their sympathizers and apologist in the media cover it up, how else do you explain why Sen. Reid's 700,000 land deal is not being investigated, especially when his son (who is running for election) might be involved.

I begin my morning reading the Wall Street Journal an in my free time, which is not much, I read other publications. Well the Wall Street Journal Opinion had two great articles. On Monday Chrisopher Hitchens, not a conservative by any stretch of the imagination, is a staunch supporter of the Iraq War and the war on Islamic Facists. The Tuesday Journal Opinion was a story about a liberal, Jewish Lesiban, that realized on Sept. 11 she was an American.

Then I read two stories on BBC one had to deal with an muslim film maker that tries to open up muslim minds and hearts. In Indonesia, there is strict laws and regulation regarding films of which one is no kissing between men and women. Well, you can guess it the film maker created a show that featured a gay character that was well received. The film maker pushed the enveloped and complied with Islamic authorities by not featuring a kiss between a man and woman, but a man and man. Although the show was very popular, the authorites quickly remedy the law preventing any kissing in films.

The next BBC story was very disturbing, almost like the Scarlet Letter, has resurfaced in Uganda. In Uganda, a newspaper printed the names of alleged homosexuals in order to ostracize them in society. Homosexuality is illegal in Uganda. The newspaper stated also they publish the names of those that have commited adultry.

What do these stories have in common. The latter two stories demonstrate societies in which those minorities are oppressed threatened with death and must fear being who they are. In America, we protect the minority. Our Constitution and instutitions ensure minorities have a voice and their rights are protected. The Journal Opinions relate a stories that those sardonic liberal minorities have no respect for those men and women fighting for them. The "so called rednecks" are protecting those minorities that would be easily punished by the Islamic Ideaologes. Where in the world do you see greater respect for minorities than in Western culture. Yes, gays in the US might be asking for the government to enforce a marriage contract, but at least they are not being put in newspapers or being stone to death for being homosexual. We must realize that if we don't fight them now then their will be no one to fight them later because they will be to strong.

I encourage everyone to read these articles especialy Hitchens who argues 9/11 was a wake up call to the world not just America. It reminds me of that story regarding Nazi Germany- They went for my neighbor and I should have said something, but it was not me. They went for the homosexuals and I should have said something, but it was not me. They went for the Gypsies and I should have said something, but it was not me. They went for the Jews, but I'm not a Jews so why should I help. Then they came for me and no one was there to stand up and help me.

As I listen to Beethoven's Fifth Symphony, I look back to the week before September 11th. I was in New York for interviews and was enjoying some Italian Cuisine in Little Italy. We were talking about what we will do after the interviews and someone said, "Let's go to the World Trade Center." I said, "no it will be here when we get back I just want to get home." Those words will live to haunt me and taught me that I need to seize every opportunity because they will not always be there.

On the morning of September 11th, I was driving into school when I heard a plan crashed into the World Trade Center. I thought it was a small commuter plane and it was cloudy day. I always parked my car at school and then commute to my internship at a government agency. While I was walking through the lounge I saw the TV. I asked what type of plane was it and someone said a passenger plane. Inside I was thinking how was it possible for a plane on a clear day hit the trade center and then the second plane hit. I called my boss and she told me not to come in they are evacuating DC. As I stayed at school shocked, the third plane hit the Pentagon preventing me from driving home.

After spending sometime at a friend's house, I drove home passed the Pentagon seeing the billowing smoke rising and lights illuminating the dark sky. Tears rolled down my checks recognizing that America faced a new war, a war that will have no borders, a war that will be based on ideas and war that must have the west prevail or oppression will reign.

For those men and women in the Armed Services, I salute your sacrifice in defending your nation and families. It is true parts of America's war on terrorism and foreign policy is not accepted by all, but remember you honorably serve this country for the liberty, freedom, and justice that it stands for. After 9/11, those in power finally woke up and realized that a police action against these murderous bastards will not work that we must attack them where they are. However, along with military we need economic and educational assistance to those nations that are weak. We need to aid them to build up there institutional, economic, educational, and security forces so as not to create an atmosphere that will serve to create bases of hatred as what happened in Afghanistan.

To those that serve to defend America, may God protect you.

I have the question mark because I fear America is already forgeting what happen to not only the United States, but the world. This is battle between good and evil. It is a battle between a society that is open and free that tolerates all ideas and opinion and one that manipulates that society in order to oppress and conform this secular world into their "city of God." So, it turns out the leak was Richard Armitage who did not support the war. Armitage who was in the State Department opposed the war and had no reason to attack Wilson a fellow supporter. It appears that he did not have any nefarious reasons telling Novak who sent Wilson on the Niger trip. After all, Novak was asking the question because why would someone with no intelligence training nor an expert in nuclear proliferation be sent on a fact finding mission to determine if Iraq was seeking "yellow cake."

The major problem I have is that according to news reports Fitzgerald already knew who revealed the information three years ago, yet after millions of dollars and waste of resources only one person has been indicted. The question is why was Armitage not arrested if he revealed the identity of CIA clandestine officer. He knew who sent Wilson on the trip and if knew that she was uncover then he knowingly revealed the idenity of uncover agent and thus violated the law. Yet, after three years of this investigation not a single person was charged with the substantive crime, but all other leaks that threaten the security of this nation and intelligence gathering still go unpunished.

In today's Washington Post Ted "can't drive" Kennedy has an article about the Judiciary confirmation process and namely attacking Roberts and Alito. He takes their very short body of decisions to attack what they stated in the hearing and what they actually practice. Of course Kennedy is going to complained because these justices ideology is a strict interpretation of the Constitution.

Kennedy cites a couple of cases of which one demonstrates he is a racists and deliberately tries to manipulate the facts to get his point a cross that Alito and Roberts attack civil rights. The case he brings up is the Texas Redistricting in which the majority stated that Latino Americans were disproportionately effected and the a district as designed did not allow for Latino's to have their own representative. Now, if anyone looked at which district was singled out you would be is disbelief because that district is represented by a Latino, Congressman Bonilla. What the court and Kennedy are both saying is that district does not have the proper representation i.e. Latino's should be represented by Democrats and not a Republican which Mr. Bonilla is. This soft racism is always in the eyes of the elite that were raised and educated in white posh liberal institutions.

Another case that was cited, was regarding the environment. The court finally curtailed the power grab from the Army Corp of Engineers determining navigable waterways that were designed to protect wetlands. The court said a puddle that may lead into a navigable waterway is not considered a wetland under the law. Kennedy says this is an attack on the environment. No Mr. Kennedy it is an attack on the government seizing property without compensation and making sense of a law that was unjustly enforced and interpreted by an Executive Agency. Oh, and then Mr. Kennedy says that the above justices gives to much deference to the Executive, but I guess not where Mr. Kennedy thinks deference should be given such as the Army Corp of the Engineers that is part of the Executive Branch.

Mr. Kennedy you are disgrace to your country, state, and family. I would suggest take a nice slow walk through the BIG DIG (Pig).

So, yesterday I was heading to Happy Hour to meet my friend that was recently evacuated from Beirut when who do I see DMX. Yes, the paroled rapper. As I was walking to the ATM and 18th Street Lounge, I see this guy on the sidewalk with a remote control helicopter. Now it was this that caught my eye and when I looked up I laughed and said hey that is DMX.

My first question was why the hell is he hanging south of Dupont in front of his White Hummer playing with a remote control helicopter. Then I was thinking I thought he was on parole. So, I did what came natural and took a photo of him with the cell phone in which he gave me some frigging gang sign.

Well I proceeded to the lounge for a few Sapphire and Tonics and conversation with my recently rescued friend and his friends. The conversation was good until the political situation was discussed. I kept hearing the word proportionality and "I was there." I believe Israel has a right to defend itself and I hope Lebanon will be strong enough to suppress the Hezzbolah, but until then Israel has a right to destroy those that threaten the safety of its people. Unfortunately, the conversation ended because the tension was rising and I had to head to another party.

I must applaud the assistants at the Apple Store. As I was looking around and then realized I could check out the Red Sox score (they lost) on their computers I heard this young African American singing. At first I did not realize it was an African American, but by the lyrics that were coming out the mouth of the patron it had to an African American because anyone else would probably be killed in a matter of moments. He kept yelling (singing) nigga this and nigga that.

I turned around to see who it was coming from and yes I was right, it was a young African-American. Others just looked and were shaking their heads and then the Apple assistant went over. He told the kid that that type of language is inappropriate and is not welcomed at the store. The kid complied without any protest. I must say in this day and age I was amazed the guy said something, but good for him.

This past weekend in St. Petersburg , Russia was hoping for a trade with the United States that would pave the wave for its entry into the WTO. As of today, Putin is still waiting for that trade agreement that will probably be reached sometime in the summer of 2007. America and the EU have main concerns, especially Putin's consolidation of Russia's natural resources and companies under the power of the government. One only has to look at what happen to Lukos.

What was Russia's immediate reaction to not reaching a trade agreement with the United States, it delayed trade deals with US companies seeking energy deals in Siberia. Russia wants to open up its industries for capital and improvements without losing control, but one must realize that political agendas are different from corporate concerns. A corporation is run to make a profit and serve the public in order to make a profit. A government is to serve the people and use its influence to benefit its people.

What Russia should have demonstrated that it was willing to pass laws that would protect property rights. Not only pass laws, but reform its justice system in order to ensure fairness and procedural due process. Russia should have also approved the deals with the American Companies as a gesture of good will allaying the fears that Russia would use its natural resources as way to influence and control foreign policy.

Then again US is using Russia's entry as a tool to influence it to side with America in its fight against terrorism and the development of nuclear weapons in hands of mad men. Putin should realize that a scorpion is always a scorpion know matter how nice you are to it and eventually it is in their nature to strike. Putin is playing a dangerous game with the United States and it placating the scorpion to the south Iran. Eventually, once Iran obtains dominance over its former Persian Empire, it will seek to strike into the lower under belly of Russia to aid its "Islamic" brothers.

These are pundits that were probably praising our engagement with North Korea and Syria. The showers accolades of appeasing terrorists and forcing Israel to the table.

First, Israel has an absolute right to defend itself. Israel is the only real democracy in the region that values life and rights. Yes, their tactics may be harsh, but irrational individuals only know and respect power. The use of the IDF is measured to reach certain goals and objectives. The missile attacks into Israel are to terrorize civilians and indiscriminately kill.

Second, you can never negotiate with terrorist only demonstrates weakness and allows them to regroup. For six years, Hezbollah has been unimpeded in south Lebanon and the new government is to weak to enforce. Do not think for a moment that if the Lebanonesse Armed Forces were able to force Hezbollah out of Lebanon they would not. People must remember that Hezbollah is sponsored by the Persian extreme Shiite state while the majority in the region are the more "progressive" Sunni.

Third, having Israel eliminated Hezbollah will strike a blow for Iran use of this proxy terrorist force against the West. It will also divert resources from Iran trying to destabilize Iraq and will allow US to conduct covert operations from Iraq and Afghanistan into Iran. The United States must not lose the bigger picture and that is to contain Iran and its nuclear program. Once Hezbollah is weaken the US and Europe should deploy NATO troops to south Lebanon to protect Israel to and aid the fledgling democracy of Lebanon.

Fourth, the main stream media can go to hell. All they do is criticize what efforts this Administration has done to combat terrorism. They believe you can negotiate with animals. Negotiating with terrorist only legitimize their actions of killing innocent civilians.

The Weekend

I feel bad that I did not see one of my friends play their gig. I also feel bad that I did not pick up the phone to go out for some drinks when she need to talk to someone, but I was involved in extracurricular activities.
Sometimes, I find it funny when people think they can manipulate and lie, hoping that I will never figure out what is going. However, I'm very analytical and suspicious person that will always investigate.
The internet is a great place to out to find out such information.
So, when I confronted the person I thought was a friend, he kept telling that I assume to much but when I revealed the information I found out he told me I was right. I replied so I did not assume to much and that I was right therefore you lied to me and violated my trust.
As I left his apartment he said will I see you again. I turned to him and said no, plus I just deleted your number frm my phone.
He tried to call but I was too busy to pick up the phone.
I'm now trying to reassess my life and priorities. I've been lied to before and I have forgiving them, but for some reason I don't think I can forgive this person no matter how many times he said sorry.
Who knows time might forgive all or forget, we will see.

P.S. I hope my friend is enjoying his little expedition rowing in circles in the Pacific.

So, I was watching Jon Stewart's the Daily Show and this woman from the WAPO was hawking her book about partisan politics.

Why is it I never heard about partisan politics when Democrats were in control?
The premise was the partisan politics is a direct result of the one thing Democrats and Republicans can agree on drawing districts the preserve incumbents.
Now having said this she states that a politician can say what ever the want and get away with it because the people of the district think the same way.
She then says we need to end this incumbence control so we can get a Congress that is more representative of the American people.
Look at point 3 and then point 4.
As for point 3, don't the people want a politician the is like them to accurately reflect the views of that individual constituency.
As for point 4, maybe Congress does not reflect the authors view of what she believes is representative of American people. She is after all a reporter that knows it all and does not have to leave the beltway to gage what Americans rely want in a politician.
It is interesting that when the media takes polls it is done on a national scale, yet, Congress is chosen based on individual districts that have their own concerns different from a national consensus. Thus, what the WAPO author believes is the view point of the American general population coud be different based on individual district concerns.

When the President wants to make an important announcement regarding immigration policy where does he go to announce it, that's right Dunkin Donuts where else. It just so happens to be a Dunkin Donuts that I frequent. So, I'm sitting at my computer with the TV next to me on MSNBC when all of sudden the President appears on TV with the owner of Dunkin Donuts. I said to my co-workers that is the DD that I get your donuts from.

This is the same DD that I said a melting pot, so, I guess the President's vetting team concurs with me. I was laughing because the woman over the Prez's left shoulder always ask if I'm married and would I marry her. I then say why, tarajete verde. The ladies begin to laugh and say si. This is the same DD that I helped a woman with her citizen's exam, but I found the exam a little out dated and gave her the current answer, but told her the correct answer at the time the exam was printed.

Yesterday, I had dinner with a friend when the conversation became serious. He leans over and say JR I hate to be serious, but I need to talk to you. I responded does this have to deal with your recent trip to Dallas. He says yes that he thought he wanted to move back, but now he does not.

I realized that things did not go well with the Doc. He was dating a resident, before he moved to DC and has strong feeling for him. Before he moved on to explain what happen on his trip, he said I want you to listen and not give your opinion. Now, people that know me that I will always give my opinion even when unsolicited. [(side story) Take tonight at dinner, I had to listen to this woman talk about England this, Europe that and America was far behind. Her voice was so annoying just like the Seinfield Episode in which Kramer goes into an epileptic seizure everytime he hears Mary Hart from Entertainment Tonight and that is how I felt. Anyways, I had to refute or point out that not everything is clearly better in Europe.]

Well, he tells me that the Doc is done being gay and that he will try to be straight. I said so through his pure determination he will try to be straight. My friend said yes, even though he admits he is attracted to men and likes men sexually he will try to be straight. I said as a Doctor does he believe that being gay is a choice or biological. My friend says the Doc believes it is biological, but his will can over come that.

I told my friend that I will not give my opinion about it now, but he needs to do makes him happy, just as the Doc believes he is doing what makes him happy. Then I imposed my personal experience and said I believed I knew that I was attracted to men at a young age, yet, because of social mores, pressure, and my up bringing I kept thinking it would pass. Well, it did not pass and I refused to fight it any more. However, that does not mean I want everyone to know. I just hope my friend will come to terms with something he can not control and will move on because it appears the Doc is trying to move on. I know adventually the Doc will learn that trying to change your nature will be hard and ultimately lead to depression. I just hope once he realizes this he will embrace who he is.

Can someone point me to a website that has the pros and cons of Net Neutrality. For some reason I don't think I can side with the Net Neutrality crowd for the below reasons:

When Moveon.org is involved, it raises my suspicions.
Google and Moveon.org are saying if this legislation does not past the ISPs can determine what content will be delivered to the masses. However, Google is already guilty of manipulating content by eliminating conservative blogs, news, and columunists.
It appears that the Neutrality movement is a socialistic program to control costs or at least prevent ISPs from charging those that use their infrastructure.
I'm usually opposed to any legislation that will limit the freedom of the internet. The information highway is one advancement that has largely developed without government interference. It appears that when a company such the content providers or search engines want to lock in the risk of cost they need the assistance of government to curb what ISPs will charge. It seems to me like rent control, instead of allowing the free market to determine the cost and price.

However, despite my reservations I would like to hear the other side of why this legislation is need.

My gym has this guy that loves to dance around listening to his walkman. I don't know, but he might not be that stable and he might poke someones eye out.

After running 7 miles and playing softball, I stopped over my friends house to take shower and to head out to Adams Morgan to listen to a band. So, I get out of the cab and see drunking people stammering all over the place, most are underage interns that run around the city like a stampede every summer. After navigating the listless drunks, I arrive at the enterance to the bar where the bouncer is collecting a cover charge. A gentleman in his later 40's is ahead of me with a bag of change counting the 5 dollar cover charge. I said are you kidding me, next time bring a bag of pennies. The bouncer said you be surprise some people have done that. I finally make it into the bar and begin to listen to this ska band. The real reason I was there was because I promised a former co-worker that I would listen to her band. The band and her signing was great and the drinks and conversation flowed after that were good as well.

Way do people want a time table in Iraq? Is it to provide a blue print for the terrorist to follow? While we are at it, why don't we give them all of plans and troop movements.

If people have not watched it, you should watch Rescue Me. Dennis Leary, created the show and it is highly entertaining, plus he is a Worcester boy.

For 9 months you carried me and protected me in you womb, well somewhat. I still wonder how I would have turned out if you did not smoke while you were pregnant, but I guess that is why I was three weeks overdue. The Docs will never allow that to happen again, three weeks is too much. It is also interesting that the first person to see me was my grandmother who was a nurse in the maternity ward and on duty at the time I was born. No wonder why I was her favorite. God Rest her soul.

This past weekend was great. Friday I witness the come back of the evil empire with Yankee loyalists and decided I would not attend the Sunday game. I would not be witness to maybe another Yankee come back (actually the opposite happen with the Nats taken two in the late innings from the Stanks.) Saturday was awesome, I decided that a friend an I would head out west to Virginia Wine/Horse Country. Honestly, Virginia has some very good wineries and excellent wines. I know what you are saying it is not sunny California, but trust me Virginia’s wineries have some excellent vintages, especially with the American varietal of the Norton Grape.

My companion and I traveled out west after giving him a tour of Old Town Alexandria and showing him the childhood home of Robert E. Lee. The ride out west was beautiful with the rolling hills, green trees, and the smell of freshly cut hay. Seeing the horses frolic on the hill sides and bucolic setting brought an easy and comfort to my friend and myself. We finally reached the winery where we began to taste some excellent wine. We started with white, which I really don’t care for, and finally moved to the reds which I prefer. I guess it is because it has more phosphates and a taste the I prefer.
They finally got to what they are known for which is their Norton production. The Norton is an American Varietal which has a rich and full taste. I fell in love with the Norton when I visited a winery on the Mizzo River in Missouri. For those that love BBQ, I think a Norton wine is the best compliment for it. Some will say who the hell drinks wine with BBQ and I say if you do a Norton Wine is the best.

Because both of us were starving and had to have some Italian Food, I missed a winery, well more like missed meeting the proprietor of the winery. I wanted to meet this woman because she was the main plaintiff in a case that the Supreme Court ruled in her favor holding that states can not pass laws prohibiting importation of wine into their states. Honestly, meeting the woman who challenged the Constitutionality of law and win is very rare occurrence, but not really since three of the justices live in Virginia and love wine. I’m not saying they compromised their position just an observation.

In the same June 5, 2006 Newsweek, there was an article about the fall of Mogadishu to the Islamic. I've been meaning to write about this sense I've seen the media attempt to portray the Administration's policy against terrorism as the reason for Somalia's traditional capital falling into the hands of a Taliban like organization. All media have been touting America backing four warlords to halt the tide of the extremist taking over the anarchistic and chaotic country and stating it has failed.

The media states the America's Policy of aiding the warlords weakened the support of the people for the warlords because they see them as puppets for America. The also insinuate that the support of the warlords will cause America to lose the hearts and minds of the people of Somalia. My question is why do we focus on the reasons who and why America supports and focus on who supports these Islamic Fascists that are bent on instituting Sharia law across the land. The problem is that if the media does focus on who supports these people they will have to make a choice and analyze which way of life is better destroying their relativistic view of the world.

Let me say this there is a Fifth Column within the United States and it is called the media. The media is bent on bring down Bush at the cost of destroying the moral and support of soldiers in the field. They have constantly sided with those that are bent on destroying Western Civilization. You want to know why we don't have a written blue print regarding Iraq or why we take the measures we do regarding terrorist or those caught on the battle field is because the terrorist will use our open society against. They learned our intelligence gathering in the trial of those that first attempted to bomb the World Trade Center The changed their tactics making hard for America to detect their plans. Another interesting fact is their training books know the America media too well, that they trained the terrorist on how to manipulate the media to produce stories that would weaken the resolve of the American. From what the polls state and what I read, I believe the handbook is working well. Thanks Media, remember you will be the first to go under Sharia.

Again I was on the treadmill cooling down and I read a Newsweek article about illegal immigration in Mexico. That is right folks Mexico has an illegal immigration problem, however Mexico is mostly a conduit between its Central American neighbors and the United States. The interesting part was President Fox of Mexico ordered Mexican Soldiers to the border to prevent the illegal immigrants from entering Mexico. I guess he did not want any competition with illegal Mexican workers in the United States.

While Fox calls for amnesty for illegals in the United States, Mexico has some of the toughest anti-immigration laws. An illegal immigrant can spend up to two years in prison. This does not take into consideration Mexico's less than stellar enforcement of civil rights. Remember that in Mexico you are guilty till proven innocent and prisoners do not have the plush life style and amenities as they do in America. As for amnesty, according to the Newsweek Article Mexico has only granted 15,000 visas.

It is interesting that the United States is getting advice from a good neighbor that is not reciprocating the same courtesy to its neighbors. The United States as a sovereign nation has the right to protect its borders and that is what it should do. It also has to balance the protection of its border with a program that will allow migrant workers seek jobs in America legally and also promote economic interests in Mexico. The other way to stem the tide of illegal immigration is provide economic assistance to Mexico and to encourage it to reform its laws to make it easier to do business.

On a side note, I don't see the United States saying anything about Mexico's tough stance on immigration, nor do you hear about it in the media. I must say that I'm glad Newsweek did that article, but look at the picture I posted with the article which was reprinted in American newspapers at the apex of the illegal immigrant protests. Don't you find it interesting that the Mexican newspaper did not even mention the hypocrisy of their own President calling for President Bush to do what he has refused to do himself. Don't you find it disturbing the our own press will just put what others say as fact without even checking, giving an explanation, or even an alternative view. I find it very disturbing that the press did not even address the steps Mexico took to curb illegal immigration entering their country until polls showed the American people's view had solidified and it appears there is now way the press can sway it from supporting tougher immigration.

Exhausting Weekend

I think the last two was too much exercise. After a couple of beers at my friends BBQ, I passed out on the couch watching Happy Gilmore. Now, it is time for bed.

I've read to great post, one at Incognito's blog and Who Threw That Ham at me. Although, I disagree with some of Incognito's post, I agree with a lot of it and both Incognito and Who Threw That Ham at me have it right that gays should not be ostracize in American society as political pawns and should be proud of who they are.
It is always difficult when you have women wanting to sleep with you, but you don't want to tell them you are not interested because you like the attention and the game. Plus, it is fun to flirt for awhile.
Oh, after flirting with the two Texas girls in which one thought I was going home with her friend, sorry, I was tired, but instead went to the bars after getting her a cab. Well, since it is pride week here in DC the drama was flowing. I find it interesting when someone is CBing another friend and then the friend get so frustrated that he calls his friend a fucking faggit. Really, is that the pot calling the kettle black. It was too much drama for me so I decided to walk to my friend's house and on the way there kept getting cat calls and hey good looking from men driving by. I really don't think they could see me in the dark, I think it was just a natural reaction to yell things out while driving by. I could have been Rusty from Mask for all they know.
I also reaffirmed I do not like white wine after have several samples of the stuff at a wine tasting. I'm a red person and in particular Chilean Wine I find is the best.

It Is The Small Things That Count

About a month ago I meet a friend, D, back in our home state of Massachusetts. I asked him if he wanted to come out for drinks where another one of my friends was a bartender. He showed up about an hour later which was plenty of time to talk to the bartender. D and I caught up on things and he said he had a present for me.

I opened it up and it was a crucifix that D bought at an abbey near his childhood home. He tried to qualify it as a joke that he bought because the inscription on the back said "I'm Catholic Call A Priest." However, I actually took to be more sentimental gift because it came from D a friend I truly respect and admire. I also normally do not wear jewelry, but I was about to get a cross to go around my neck, but a good friend provide one to me that meant much more.

Since getting the cross, I have not taken it off. It is a reminder of my friend and more importantly my God. It reminds to pray for the health and safety of my family and friends. The cross is a gift that I will cherish until I die.

Now that my friend has gone the way of Captain Cook his body may be far, but his spirit will be close to my heart in the form of his gift. Unfortunately, just like the many explorers, as Captain Cook, the natives got restless and took his modern day communication to the outside world his computer. I just hope that when he gets back he will be able to have interesting stories to post and hopefully a new computer.

Oh, and the Bartender, I can not thank enough for meeting him. He is truly a magnanimous individual that has sacrificed a life in pursuit of material wealth for one devote to helping humanity. I was fortunate to meet him and now call him a friend. It was his advice the initial allowed me to open up more to who I am. The Bartender and D are truly good individuals and friends that you should have on your side. CHEERS MATES.

I'm Evil

I just took the evil test that I saw on Chad Fox's website and I'm 90% evil. Some of the questions on the test reminds of the time when the Scientologist tried to interview me and do a profile. When I heard the question would you commit genocide against a creature, I almost lost it. It was not my fault my father bought another rabbit when I only wanted one for a pet. What they say about rabbits are true. I was a kid and my father bought me one rabbit then he bought another and I said I hope they are both the same sex. In a few weeks I realized I was wrong. Then a few more weeks there wer more rabbits and more, well you get the point.

I was a kid and I could only take care of one rabbit, but no my father wanted to raise rabbits and have me take care of them. Well, after awhile I got sick of caring for them and decided to let them all go. We lived near the woods so I would one by one free them into the wilderness until there were none. When my father realize what I was doing he said that I may have set them free, but they would not live for long in the wild. He tried to blame me for the deaths of all the rabbits I set free. When I heard that question from the Scientologist I answered yes and they did not even react. What I answered I committed genocide against a creature and not one reaction. As long as their Xanuth or whatever the evil overlord buried under a volcano as a prison, I guess they don't fear or react to much.

Rummy - The Need For America In South East Asia

Secretary of Defense had a very good OPED piece in the Wall Street Journal about military alliances in Southeast Asia area. He specifically stated that there should be more participation from all area countries not to just counter balance the traditional threat from China, but to act swiftly in humanitarian ways as was demonstrated with America's quick response to the Tsunami that hit Indonesia.

Rummy is correct, but it was interesting how in the 80's most of these countries were asking for America to leave the area and we did. We left Clark Air Force Base and Subic Naval Base in the Philippines (good thing a volcano destroyed them anyways) only to be asked to return with the rising dragon to the north. Not only did our long traditional allies asked us to partol the water of South China Sea and the Indian Ocean, but our former enemy Vietnam indirectly encouraged the US to patrol the seas. America should and can protect the water ways in this vital area of the world. Over 60% tonnage passes through bottle neck straits in Indonesia. An America partnered with our traditional and newly developing allies will be in a stronger position not only counter an military or police actions, but also humanitarian actions.

Observations

For the past two days, I have been observing the people at my gym. There are some very interesting people some I recognize and others that are new to me. Yesterday, while I was on the treadmill watching my Red Sox get trounced by the Yankees I noticed this guy. The reason why I noticed him was because he was balding up top, yet had a long beard. He also had tons of metal on his face that probably would have set off a metal detector. I was wondering why would you attract more attention to yourself when you are a balding like that, but obviously this guy is secure and proud of himself as he should be. We all can not conform to the social norm.

Today, we had our normal dancer. I've avoided dancer because I was able to go to the gym early avoiding this guy who likes to dance around the gym and pretend to shot baskets. He really disturbed me because I will be on the treadmill minding my own business when I hear him yelling out stuff. No, he does not have that disease, but he just loves laughing out loud and just yelling. I'm not the only one disturbed by this.

And finally we have the really life troll. You know those little creatures you put on the end of your pencil with the fuzzy hair. Well, my gym has a real one. She loves wearing her Daisy Dukes and using the high kick machine for hours. She also loves showing her navel which is a good thing to distract from looking at her Medusa like head. The one thing I have to say at least she smells nice and most times like cotton candy.

I will not mention all the hotties that have come and gone through my gym, but I'm glad to share just some of the eclectic bunch the lighten up my day.

Nothing Much

Well, I'm glad my crazy week is done. I really don't know how people can travel all over the place, what are you running from or to. LOL. Well, after having dinner with a friend and telling him urinating on the room deck could lead to an arrest and him being put on sexual predators list thus denying him a feature legal job, I proceeded to a country bar.

After paying the cover charge, I first noticed the place was dead. I moved to the bar and got myself a Sapphire and Tonic and just people watched for awhile. I texted a couple of people and then a person sat next to me and we began to talk. He was very interesting and then his buddies showed up. The place began to get packed, but this is when I became perplexed. After line and two stepping, the techno came on. So, I was expecting artistic dancing, but no lining dancing. However, there are always those to strive to be none conformists and destroying the unity of the Lords of the Dance. I called it early with no one in tow.

Nothing interesting just an average day, except I got burned doing a 10 mile run around DC. I was glad when I arrived at my friends house ribs were waiting.

THE BIG APPLE/AND Failure of our sex ed!!!

Quick Post since my connection sucks. I'm in the Big Apple until Thursday and have lined up to see friends and I apologize to those that I'm unable to meet. As you know there is only one me and many you. I will be able to catch up with you later in about two weeks.

Today was great got off the plane, checked in and went to upper West Side and went for a run with my straight buddy from my hometown. I love Centeral Park and all the hotties running you know who you are because your eyes and mine meet. Come on I was not trying to be discrete either. Then SB and myself went to this nice Italian restaurant near his house, but before that I tried to get into Lady M cakes for a try except they seemed to lock their doors. Anytime you see a store that looks very sterile with just cakes on display you know it was be good eats or just for show. My friend assured me it was good eats.

Also the conversation got me back on to sending my resume out to head hunters. I think it is time for a change to either San Fran, Dallas, or NYC. I've always planned on moving probably to San Fran and I was aprised of opportunity, but did not because I usually like staying a whole year at a place in which I'm only 6 months into.

Happy Memorial Day to All Those Who Provide Our Freedom

I want to thank all those men and woman that have served and died for this country so that America's prosterity may continue live their dreams in a free and open society. Their sacrifice for their families and country is one of the most noblest greatest deeds one can do.

My grandfather a WWII veteran that was wounded in the Pacific and received military awards was recently honored by the NFL Players Association for contributions to football. In his speech, he stated what he had done was nothing compared to what his son, my uncle, did in Vietnam being wounded three time and receiving the military awards for his actions in the mountains of Vietnam. I hope I had a hand in that because my grandfather would always compare the WWII generation to the Vietnam and saying why do the Vietnam veterans believe they are entitled to something.

I told my grandfather it was because the WWII generation were treated as heroes and supported by the entire country. The Vietnam Veterans came home to a divided country in which some called them baby killers and murders throwing eggs and other condiments at our returning soldiers. I then said how would you feel if you served your country honorably and did your duty as required, but came home to that reception. Upon, hearing what my grandfather did on his day, I think I had an impact on him and it is about time we as a country give the Vietnam Veterans their due. They served their country honorably and did not lose the war, it was the politicians that lost the war not our brave men and women trying to protect a democratic government in South Vietnam even though their own people did not have the will to fight for their own freedom. (Yes, I do know the history of South Vietnam and I'm aware that the only Catholic President in our history acquiesced to the assination of the democratically elected Catholic President of Vietnam.)

Carolina Blue

Well, I’m in the great state of North Carolina in Durham just outside of Chapel Hill. After traveling 275 miles in 3 ½ hours for a wedding rehearsal I had to piss like a race horse. You see a big Dunkin Donuts Ice Coffee will do that to you when you don’t want to stop until you get to your place of destination. I said hello to the groom and immediately went to the bathroom.

I came out and said hi to some of my law school buddies that I have not seen in a while. We went out for Subway because the groom was suffering from a hang over and needed some chow and I was a Starvin Marvin. We all ate and it was then time for the rehearsal. Well, I thought it was, but some of the brides maids "got lost" in the shopping mall and had to take showers. The brides maids took showers all right only allowing my law school friend 10 minutes to take a shower and get ready. He gets in the car with out a shirt and we speed to the Carolina Inn.

We get to the Carolina Inn and there is no parking. The attendant tells me to park in the Catholic Center which I do after figuring out that I should have taken an immediate right into the center instead of circumnavigating around the UNC Campus one more time. I arrive and I’m a ball of sweat and the Pastor just keeps on talking and talking. For fuck sake, I’m sweating my nuts off here lets get this thing rolling.

The Pastor finally finishes and I proceed to hit on the desk attendants. They keep giving me cookies and asking me questions about what I do and blah, blah and blah. This one guy looked very similar to a guy I meet at a birthday party in DC, but no way was it him because the DC guy is in the money. However the desk attendant was very cute. After talking to him, my friends and I head to the hotel bar for a drink. Before we reach the bar, I was looking outside and notice this hottie in swim trunks. I first wondered why was he wearing swim trunks when the inn does not have a pool and then I noticed the bulge underneath. Although, he may be blessed in that region his Providence shirt and Yankees hat said major loser, but still hot and gifted.

I finally headed back to my hotel for some swim time and get ready for the dinner in Durham. One of my friends erroneously told me that the dinner was at 6:30 and would take 45 minutes to get there; he was wrong on both accounts. I was the first to arrive and the staff gladly provided me a nice Silician Red blend. I walked around the Italian Restaurant surveying the once Tobacco Warehouse converted into a restaurant and apartments. I love the exposed brick and ceiling that is accentuated with nice Italian decorations with trees and plants containing lights. The food was decent and the conversation flowing, including the hot waiter. Lets just say he was a tall handsome gentlemen with beautiful blue eyes and dark curly black hair. He later ended up in Chapel Hill, but enough of that.
While we were in Durham, I said we really should go to the Duke Lacrosse house. The lawyers in the crowd said based on the evidence stated it would be very difficult to get a conviction. We also stated from our experience most LAX players are aholes. So, before we head to Chapel Hill I tried to convince the guys and brides maids to take photos in front of the house but to no avail.

Now it is just waiting time before the wedding and I’m planning on hitting Top of The Hill before the 6 PM ceremony. I just hope the sun is below the buildings, so, I’m not sweating all over the place.

Monday I will be taking off early in the morning so I can get in a run up in DC before attending one of those carnivore delight BBQ's by the southern dispora in DC. The food should be great and plentiful. I just hope the weather cooperate.

The Games We Play!

The games we play with our emotions Some are willing, others unwilling, and yet others are innocent bystanders. One of the greatest emotions is love. It is the one that many men are unwilling to demonstrate or admit because in their eyes they might be perceived as weak or vulnerable. They hide their true intentions and lie to make one they love or one who is in love jealous. This is not what love is.
Love in and of itself is pure and unconditional. Love is when you found someone that completes you and compliments you, not necessarily being the same as you. You know found love when you accept that person for all his beauty as well as his imperfections. When you realize that this person makes you happy when you are near him and sad when you are apart. Love must have a equal partner that shares in the honest development of hopefully a life long relationship.

However, sometimes love is perceived as lust. Lusting after someone that gives you instant gratification because it is something new or forbidden. Yet, this lust wears off only leaving you empty and lonely inside. What you once thought was love was not truly love because love is compliment by trust, truth, and respect for each and not lies after lies and infidelity.
Sometimes, I think men assume they have love to the point of living in blind ignorance afraid to hear the truth. Once they hear the truth they lash out at that person who stood by them and warned them, but as in all humans it is better they learned on their own. They do everything to make that person jealous, but in reality they are the ones that are more hurt. Why because they lack love and the relationship that comes with it. They lack that person that cherishes every moment they are together and they especially lack a person the will remain faithful, truthful, and respectful.

I have come to realize that I must withdraw from this game. I donÂt care for it when the game is the manipulation of hearts. It is not right and can lead to server emotional problems. I have seen it and I donÂt like. I was a willing participant, but no longer. If the consequences is to live the rest of my life alone so be it, but at least I know IÂm true to myself and will never compromise my values. Maybe one day I will find that person who complete me and makes my life a joy to wake up next to each and every morning.

Would you blindly invest?

Russia's Rosneft, the state run oil company will be making an IPO this year by trying to raise money from Western sources. First, I believe in consolidating power in order to create stronger laws that will protect property, promote a market economy, establish standards for corporate governance, and a justly instituted legal systems with uniform procedures and standards. If these laws are fairly enforced then I would say invest. Second, this is all in preparation to allow an company to be driven by market forces and be indepedently run free from the government intrusion into the boardroom.

Stratocade, is absolutely correct to say allow capitalism and the market economy to drive corporations. It allows for greater freedom and decision making by allowing a CEO to determine what direction to take a company depending on the circumstances. Plus it allows for greater efficiency to have it lead independent of the government. When a company is run by the government it leads to great waste and corruption. This will also occur is Rosneft is not allowed to go truly public which will lead to inefficiency being run by a behemoth government in Moscow. The other problem is how much transparency will there be to allow people to truly evaluate the company. Under the Russian government, I would think very little but Western capital markets have not learn losing billions when Lukos was seized on trumped up tax charges and found guilty with given a chance to pay the fines. Western markets will always go after the greatest potential with the greatest risk and that great risk is the state control of Rosneft.

Young vs. Old

So, after a stressful day at work interrupted by a friend telling me his moving plans and his new pleasure utensil, I get a call from another friend you want to run. So, I meet him out his house the first thing he said is I have a new route. The route took us into Rock Creek into Adams Morgan and then across Connecticut Ave. I said to him slow down because I have my sneakers on that causes my outside tendon to hurt.

He also pissed me off because the routes was mostly up hill. Oh and he is a young 24 guys and I'm a thirty year old pushing thirty-one soon. Well, he was 200 hundred feet of head of me and then 100 and then finally on about 5 feet ahead when the sprint to the house occurred. It was at this point that he began to lose and lose badly. I turned to him and said I always save enough strength for the race at the end because it matters only at the end. I was also teasing by saying look at this lineback speed. Point is the tortoise will always beat the hare.

Political point that I noticed on my run. There was a lawn sign that said slavery reparations. I wished the people who put that sign up where outside. It would have been worth to stop my run and hear their explanation for why America and America only needs to pay. Don't site Jewish People being paid by Germany because at least they have a proximate claim that Germany caused them injury and can prove their case. Not to mention that those who would claim injury are two generations removed from equal but separate (not really equal) laws. I would go more into this, but I'm tired and full from Chinese food.

I'm the fireman putting out fires left and right. It is always interesting when former colleagues are trying to best you in wits and use the knowledge you imparted on them against you. However, you can never fool the master who is always more mischievous than the student.

Enough about that. So, after a long Friday night in which I found out my friend will be interning for the same Federal Judge as my other friend did last year, I began to go from bar to bar. No matter which bar I went I knew someone there. Hey (is usually what I say when I forget their names), then after talking for a bit it clicks. Well, so how is the Senator you know if he has a opening on the committee tell me I would love to be on and don't forget I did go to school in Texas. As I walked out of the bar I ponder do I go down the street to the gay country bar. No, I better go home I want to do a nice 10 mile run, plus I have to go to work.

So, Saturday was a good day beside going to work. I left work about 4:30 walked to Georgetown to just browse. I pick up some clothes and meander into Barnes and Noble. I decided to buy Herodotus to go along with my Thucydides. I see a friend who says we need to get dinner this week and he will have a surprise that I will like. Now, my mind races with all naughty thoughts, but then come down back to earth. I'm sure the dinner will be strictly Platonic.

Saturday night was a riot. I attended an Apartment building party. I already described some of it. I did not tell you this story about a horrendous amazement Woman that was at least four inches taller than me and had a weird shape head and lips. No, I did not have Napoleonanic Syndrome. Well, she over heard the law school that I went and now it was not in the first tier, but I got a decent education and I love the friends that I made there.

Anyways, she is all about how great she is and can not decided between a top tier Boston law school and top tier Midwest law school. Well, I asked her why she would not go to the Boston law school. I don't know why I asked when I knew the answer, but I wanted to know if this person was shallow and pretensious as she seemed. Yes, everything she said demonstrated that she was all about herself and what school has the better reputation that could enhance her status in society. She the proceeds to give me a back hand comment: "Oh, you went to XY law school did you have fun.

Yes, I did you fridged bitch. Some of my friends heard her comment and I said to them I really wanted to call her out but I did not. I did not want to waste my breath on her. Needless to say she did not have to many friends there and her attitude rube everyone the wrong way. To the point that the Texas lawyer's wife called her a cunt. I turned to her and said exactly. Now pass me the vodka.

The moral of the story is great people don't have to remind people they are great, people just know.

Time Off

This weekend had me working hard and partying harder. It was great talking to people from Texas and meeting Ed, a black man, who plays a mean Johnny Cash, and trying to make sure the local kids that kept running over did not violate the religious dietary restrictions. I mean honestly who purchases pork/chicken hot dogs.

For the next two weeks, I will be extremely busy with work then traveling to Chapel Hill for a Wedding. Then when I get back home I will be flying out the next day to New York, so, by next Friday I will be glad when the weekend is here and I will be able to canoe on Saturday. So, I will be posting intermittenly through the week that will not be indepth.

Ok, I was in a hurry to get to work for some pressing matter that need my attention. (Reminder shut phone off) As I was speeding into the garage I see this adonis before me. Nice chisel face, shaved head, about 6'2", with a relaxed out fit on. I waited to see if I could figure out what building he went into and figured out he worked in the area. So, I decided to go out for lunch and try to find him to no avail. I will continue to look for him and I don't even know if he is on my team.

This reminds me of another person I almost ran down. It was not my fault the person who believes he has the right of entitlement went against the do not walk sign. Again, I was in a hurry to a meeting near Capital Hill and I almost hit this prodigy of a very powerful, but tragic family. I will give you a clue. This man after allegedly being in some bars attempted to create his own byway through the Capital grounds. Who is this man? The above picture should give you a clue.

Europe Has Surrendered?

In Greek Mythology, Cassandra was given the gift of prophecy by Apollo, but was cursed by him that none would believe anything she said. She warned the people of Troy about the Greek's plan to enter the city by hiding in a wooden horse. Today, Europe has a new Cassandra who warns Europe about the evils of Islamic Extremists, yet her warnings have fallen on deaf ears. I will post later on this disturbing story. I have little hope the Europe will pay attention to her warnings, especially after the deaths of a gay politician trying to curtail Islamic immigration and Van Gogh because he dared to exercise his freedom of speech. I believe Europe will appease again as it has done in the past hoping that the new terror can be tamed, but they are only fooling themselves.

The SEC will implement rules regarding executive compensation. The rules are needed to allow full disclosure to the investing public, but some over zealous administrator might try to write in a more substantive law that will limit executive compensation. I believe Chairman Cox will not allow this because one, the SEC is mandated by Congress to regulate the capital markets and is basically an agency the enforces disclosures by companies. Two, the creation of a corporation is through state law and a Republican Congress will want to support federalism. Three, the Supreme Court may hand down a judgment stating the SEC has overstep its bounds by interfering with states rights to promulgate laws regarding the creation of a corporation, the right of those entities to contract without government interference, and SEC does not have the authority granted by Congress to issue a substantive rule to regulate executive compensation.

Any time there is a great scandal or turmoil, politicians are quick to act. Although, their intentions are good the final product hastily passed might do more harm than good. For example Sarbranes-Oxley was needed to straighten out proper accounting rules and to add the potential of criminal punishment for executives of corporations. However, the onerous and convoluted law and rules that were passed have cause a tremendous cost to corporations listed in America and has resulted in many foreign companies seeking to list on less regulated foreign exchanges. I hope the SEC realizes the with the implementation of the new executive compensation disclosure rules that they stick to disclosure and not attempt to regulate the actual compensation.

White Supremacy

Shelby Steele wrote an opinion piece in May 2, 2006 Wall St. Journal regarding white guilt caused by the European colonization of the world. In today's world, America and Europe should not be influenced by moral relativist within their own society that blame America or Europeans first and also thoses societies of color that constantly cry oppression and refer back to history ignoring their own repressive regimes. His basic premise is that White aka European/American foreign policy toward other countries should not be based on a policy of contrition for past wrongs against people of color. In fact Western Culture's values are superior and respect humanity, the dignity and rights of the individuals far more than the regimes of "color" that cry out white suppression.

I encourage you to read the article and no it is not by some racist. It is easy for people that don't want to debate issues in an honest, open and logical manner to try to silence the opposition with ad hominem attacks. I'm pretty thick head so it never works with me.

The pundits say that the United States and Russia are heading to another cold war. This may be true if America does not tone down its rhetoric. However, both nations messages are purely internally politically appealing to the masses or base. For the Americans, the message is that we stand for democracy, individual freedoms, capitalism and a free market and will champion them across the world. When an American official or any foreign official openly criticizes Russia's or should I say Putin's policies, Russia immediately acts with furor and lashes out. Great powers are not easily provoked to respond in such an openly hostile and derisive way, but Russia does which only exacerbates the situation.

Contrary to what most American's believe and feel, order is necessary to propagate the institutions that will support a democratic form of government. With the collapse of the Soviet Union a void was left, with no structure or order. Russia's earlier attempts at capitalism and democracy was meet with corruption and chaos. Putin rose to power to provide stability and order in the once chaotic regime. His speeches are all design to instill the people with pride into their mother land. His economic policies are to bring the once corrupt corporate oligarchies under the control of the state to ensure that the Russian people will ultimately benefit.

Today, Russia has under it control vast amount of natural resources. By instituting an market economy, Putin can control the growth, surveil for corruption, and once a stable corporation is established can begin to look to a more capitalistic approach. Already, Russia has taken steps for a capital raise of its Gas/Oil company. This is an important step because those that will invest want to see more corporate transparency. Great Britain after WWI had a similar approach to oil. Instead of purely capitalistic approach, Britain had a national concern to secure oil under the control of the government through proxies. Just as Great Britain did back then so to is Russia trying to mimic today.

American's must realize we must take a pragmatic approach. Not ever nation in the world will be able to embrace democracy so easily, that is a fact. What Putin has done is create a Hobbesian leviathan to establish order, but out of that order will come progress and advancement to a more stable economy and government that will eventually foster a new democracy. The rhetoric we hear today from American politicians is fine, but if that turns to actions it might lead to a new cold war.

The actors in the commercial talked about a horrible disease that could not be mentioned by name. Having the disease will give one a stigma in society that many don't want or even be associated with thus will not say the disease out loud. In circles and commercials they talk of this disease only by its initials E.D. In reality, E.D. is a dysfunctional part of the male body. Today, before the world I will tell you E.D. stands for ERECTILE DYSFUNCTION.

Funny, how the gurus on Madison Ave. decided that they could not even mention Erectile Dysfuction in the commericals for the drugs that are suppose to help with the problem. Weddings Suck If Your Are In Them!

After a respite of four years, the wedding bug has hit my friends. I have no problem attending a wedding, but I do when you're asked to be in them. You feel obligated to participate and easily agree. This year I'm in three weddings and will attend an additional fourth all over the country. Again, I don't have a problem attending. I usually have a tremendous amount of fun which is evidenced when viewing the couples' wedding videos. For some reason, the people taking the videos tend to focus on me as I dance. My dance moves are some where between Elaine on Seinfield and a person having an epileptic seizure.

As demonstrated above I have fun when I'm not in the wedding. However, when one is in the wedding the must conform to what the party wants them to wear. The first wedding I was in no problem with the tux. Thinking I can wear the tux again I ecstatic I will not have to pay more money. All my hopes are dashed a day later when I get a call from my friend from law school, his fiance decides we will be wearing brown suits down in North Carolina. Honestly, who wears a brown suit on their wedding? I told him, but I have this nice black tuxedo I wearing for the wedding I currently in could he change his fiance's mind. The answer was no because he would not even attempt to change her mind. Then I found out the next wedding is a different color tux. Now, I'm thinking being in weddings is a big PAIN IN THE ASS. It ruins your weekend, wallet, and free time. Not only his your friend joining the old ball and chain, you are for an entire weekend.

Now after all these expenses of getting the proper dress, hotel room, air fare, and booze tab (this expense if fine) you are expected to by a present. Are you serious, after all the money I spent now I have to buy a present. The only present you get for being in the wedding is a small token of their appreciation. The last wedding that I was a groomsmen I received cuff links. That was fine, but when I saw what the best man got I wanted to exchange, but could not be my initials were on the cuffs. You see he received a print of one of my favorite artists Caravaggio. All I had to do was look at and I said that is a Caravaggio' The Betrayal of Jesus. A beautiful painting that uses light and darkness well to send to the viewer a poignant message. It was because of this print the made me realize, I rather attend a wedding then be in it. Frankly, I'm honored to be by my friend's sides, but it is not worth it when you can show support by attending and seeing all your other friends because you are not locked into the wedding parties plans. Call me selfish, but that is my rant for today.

Why do I read Newsweek?

I never buy Newsweek, because frankly I find most the of the articles unbalance and bias. Today while at the gym in my cooling down phase I decided to read the May 1 edition. One of the reporters Jonathan Alter had and article touting his new book on FDR as a news article. The problem with the article is he used to promote his book and to ridicule George W. Bush and his policies. A person can objectively analyze the policies of the current administration, but you will not find that in this article.

He immediately makes a comparison that both President want to have more power in the executive, but FDR never circumvented Congress to conduct illegal wiretapping. One, that statement is not accurate and many legal scholars state the under the Constitution the President does have the power to conduct such surveillance and even if not under the Constitution the act passed by Congress allows the President to conduct any means necessary to prosecute the war not in contravention of FISA. (There are many more legal arguments I will not get into regarding this matter.) Two, Mr. Alter would like to ignore the evidence that FDR did have his own extensive wiretapping program in place without the knowledge of Congress.

He also alluded to FDR being secretive, yet being informed from capable individuals. He even cited Halliburton and war profiteering and how he appointed Truman to investigate. I hardly think a company making about 5% on a contract is war profiteering, but remember Cheney once and insider of the company. The one thing Alter did not mention was FDR was so secretive that he failed to include and prepared the Vice President to effective lead the nation in the time of war. When FDR died , Truman was unaware of most of the major development in the war including agreements between the allies and most importantly the Atomic bomb. You would think that the measure of greatness of a President is assure the American people that they would have an informed and smooth transition in power, which FDR did not.

This just an example of lazy reporting in order to promote the liberal media's agenda. Although, a reporters article can be mostly factual just look at what, how, and the words they write in their stories and it will give a way their bias. Mr. Alter has constantly bashed Bush with out giving a balance approach. Yes, if you have an honest criticism of the President's policy and present all sides as an objective reporter, instead of the facade of objectivity.

My Trip and Living with Diabetes

My cousin two weeks ago found out he had type one diabetes. He is a student in Austin, Texas with no family around. For about two months, he had signs of diabetes, he could not quench his thirst, he was tired all the time, and he a blurry vision. After losing about 15 pounds and having head aches he finally went to the military hospital were he was admitted to the ICU immediately. The doctor stated if he went to sleep there was a chance that he might have entered a diabetic coma.

His mom flew from Germany to be with him and my other aunt "the nurse" flew from Massachusetts to be the organizer. Once he got out the hospital, the nurse suggested that they fly back to Massachusetts to reorganize. When I heard they were flying home, I decided to go home. I wanted to calm ever one down and bring some levity to the situation. My aunts seemed more effected by my cousin's illness more than he.

When I got there he showed me were he has been sticking his needles, including saying he prefers sticking it in the butt as we walked into Brooks Brothers. I laughed and said I wonder what all the people that are looking as us are thinking about. Well, I was hungry and said we should get something to eat and he agreed, but wanted to go to one more store. As I was picking out a new pair of running shows I see the aunts moving quickly to leave. The nurse comes up to me and says the couz was feeling dizzy and needed to eat something.

Couz gets his sandwich and hits on the hot blondes behind the counter. I'm glad that aspect about him has not changed. It is a pretty tough time for him. He just turned 21 and can no longer have an alcoholic beverage and will have to watch what he eats. When I finally got something to eat, we went to Friendly's, because I love their Resse's Pieces Sundae. He was all depressed because he could not drink soda nor have any sweets. I told him you have think positive and not dwell on the negative. Most of the food and drink he can no longer have is bad for us anyways. I just hope he becomes more disciplined in taking control of his disease.

It was great to see the family and enjoy a nice relaxing day at the Cape. It is so easy to fall asleep in a hamock only to be awaken by the smell of steak and chicken on the grill.

For those that don't live in DC, if you ever drive up Massachusetts Avenue (the Embassy Row Part) you will see this older man with a sign reading, Vatican protects/hides pedophiles. This really disturbed my scenic view past the British Embassy and the VP's residence. As I take the right, to head to my friend's houses and pass the the Belgium Embassy, I usually roll down my window and say something. I don't know, I can not help but go off on this guy.

I even call up friends to find out what is his deal. I guess he is on that corner pretty much from morning to night protesting against the the Catholic Church or should I say the hierarchy. The next thought in my mind does this man have a job and nice white gloves to protect you from paper cuts.

This man or a family member must have been wronged by someone in the church. I think I will have to interview him to get to the bottom of the story. Of course, I will be a little bias. It was the American Catholic Church where most of the abuse occurred and he has a right to protect, but there comes a time when enough is enough. I believe this guy has been doing it for years starting out over by American Univeristy and moving his way east. The church has heard the protests of this man and many of the other victims of those men responsible for their henious actions against individuals that held so much trust in them.

The 200 million dollar evil empire lost to the Red Sox Rebel Force. I guess 100 million dollars just on the Yankees pitching staff does not payoff. Plus, they don't have the power of Papi that hit a three run blast in the 8th inning to put the game out of reach. Further more, I could careless if Foulke comes back as closer. What he did for the Sox during the championship season was awesome, but the current season is not won on passed laurels. Go, Sox!!!! (I wonder I will get a knock at the door from the FBI for memorializing what I watched on TV without permission from MLB?) Only 18 more games to go.

What the Fuck is up with Texas?

I'm not holding all of Texas in contempt, but just the two alleged racist Caucasians that have lost all sense of humanity and love for their fellow man. So, at work I was walking by a TV and there was a story about a hate crime that occurred in Spring, Texas. CNN reported that the two alleged assailants and victim were at the same party. The Latino victim reportedly kissed a white girl which supposedly angered the two Caucasian teenagers.

The two alleged animals poured bleach on the Latino, beating him severely and sodomizing him with a lead pipe. The victim was left for dead. It is crimes like this that make me lose hope in humanity. I sometimes wonder how these kids could grow up without a sense of right or wrong. Have we as a society desensitizing them as to not even respect their fellow man? Have the parents failed to instill a sense of decency and tolerance in their children? I can only wonder did the kids learn to hate in the home. Were they taught that other races are inferior and that they are rats and can be treated just as pest and be eliminated as was taught the Nazis in Germany regarding the Jews.

Racism is not something that comes naturally to a person. He is a learned belief that is first instilled in the home. For this I say shame on the parents. I'm not saying I'm perfect. Hey, I grew up in Irish/Italian Catholic Family and I know that I learn certain racial remarks through them. However, although I learned those remarks, I also learned to respect people for who they are not for the color of their skin.

On a side note, many Northerners think the are intellectual superior and more tolerant than their Southern brotheren. I just want people to know that the greatest metamorphosed and recruiting of the KKK occurred in the north. It is the northern states that have the largest membership and concentration of KKK. So, next time you think the south is full of racist rednecks, you better look to your neighbors first.

IF 80,000 People Showed Up Do They Make a Sound? Not According to MSM.

Many bloggers have been commenting on the brutal murder of a Belgian , John Van Holsbeeck. He was brutally murder by two North African youths in a train station for his MP3 Player. On Sunday, 80,000 Belgians marched through Brussels in solidarity with the Holsbeeck family as he was being laid to rest. Now, this could be demonstrative of society's over zealous appeal for material possession or it could be harbinger of what some American's have said as the Decline of the West by Islamic Facists.

The first issues is why would these two North African Youths conspire to kill this young man for just his MP3 player. Have they been overcomes by a tremendous sense of greed that they will not let anything or anyone stand in their way of achieving their goal or possession. Or is it that these youths have been manipulated by the Islamofacists to hate anything Western to the point death of a non-believer is acceptable.

The second issue is why has not that Main Stream Media picked this story up. 80,000 people march in support of this murder youth and the story is just a whisper. Why? Is it because the story does not meet the parameters or the agenda the media wants to advance. I can only suspect the media is not picking up the story because it may reveal these youths did not kill for just the possession, but something less secular such as to advancement of Islam and the subjugation of the West. Their heinous act only demonstrate their lack of respect for the dignity of human life and the individuals choice of consciousness.

Walking Around

When I worked in downtown DC, right near Connecticut Ave and M St., I never noticed that many homeless people. On my day off, I decided to head in to the city to meet friends for drinks, but first as any good Catholic Boy I had to go to church because it was Good Friday. The only church close enough to where I was the Cathedral of St. Matthews. It is a beautiful church inside and out, but there is one problem the homeless camped out on the steps and around the building. They believe a person attending mass will have a kind heart and give them the money they sorely need for their nightly libation.

However, this guy does not give money out like that. I'm not heartless or stingy with my money, I just don't want to contribute to their current alcoholic state. Sometimes, I ask them if they are hungry and if they say yes I will take them to restaurant and ask them what they want that is with in reason.

Entering St. Matthews is an obstacle course trying to avoid all the homeless that are yelling at you for money and then saying snide comments as you walk passed them. I'm not fazed by it and enter the church. The nice women hands me a program for today's mass. Uh, Oh, the program is in Spanish. I kindly ask the woman where is the schedule for the Easter Events and she provides one for me. Thanks. Shit, the 4:00 is Spanish. Well, I guess 5 years of Spanish will get me by.

The mass ended and I had sometime to kill before meeting up with friends for what turned out to be a night of debauchery. (I know, save it) Well, I proceeded to walk down Connecticut then K St. noticing this blond homeless woman with her exposed stinky feet. Thinking to myself, she is not going to get that much money with her feet exposed like that. I then walk pass the Metro where a man is yelling, "Common Sense, one dollar, one dollar, one dollar one dollar......" well you get what I mean. Walking up Connecticut Ave I pass the nice homeless man in front of the Mayflower after asking money from me for the second time he pursues me up the street, but not to far because he might lose his prime real estate in front of the Mayflower. The homeless are very territorial and don't want to lose their place where the wealth patronize such as the Mayflower or St. Matthews.

Finally, I decided to head to the Front Page to have some drinks but before I get there I'm accosted by the Larouche minions. They hand me some of their propaganda stating the war was started by Halliburton and other corporations. The follower asks what do you think of Lyndon, I said I believe he is a nut. Further more, your facts about these companies better be correct or you will be sued by them. I gave him the magazine back and told him I don't want the free rag because the articles were unfair, bias and did not present a balanced argument. I finally crossed the street to relax and begin my night of Gin and Tonics. What a day. DC is fun to people watch and I thought San Francisco was bad with the homeless. Well, at least I still have not seen used condoms or feces left on the side walks by the homeless as I did in the city by the bay.

Happy Easter, I did my Catholic duty by attending the Easter Vigil. It starts with a fire outside the church where the Easter Candle is lit and from there smaller candles are lit as the parishioners march into the Church. Once, there from darkness comes light. It is very symbolic as when Jesus died and arose again to become the light of the world. The whole experience is very moving.

From that point on it becomes rising and sitting, rising and sitting, rising and sitting, rising and sitting. The whole mass is a very long ordeal with 7 readings that has 7 psalms and then the Epistle to the Romans and Finally the Homily. Another touching part that brings the history and heirarchy of the church to the forefront it the singing of Litany of Saints. This is the song that is sung to call on the Saints to protect God's children and the newly baptized parishioners into the Catholic Church. It is a very beautiful song and makes you think of the sacrifices and devotion to God these people made.

Well, the mass finally goes to renunciation of sin, with questions do you denounce sin, Satan, ..Etc. I do knowing full well that I will be going out with friends right after and probably going to sin. This does remind me of a funny story in which many years ago my friends and I attended Midnight Mass for Christmas and one of my friends was so drunk we had to take him out of the church. I blame myself for it because I challenged him to do shots of ouzo that I just got from Greece. However, I did behave myself this time and only had a few Bombay Sapphires while celebrating a friends birthday. Then I called it an early night because I wanted to get up for a run and to study. I hope everyone has a good Easter and Passover.

Spring Cleaning

So, I decided to clean my room today. For the most part, I easily threw away everything I really did not need and then I noticed a business card. You see it was a business card from a fellow attorney I worked with. MS was the most ornery and cantankerous man I've ever met. Let's just say as most my friends now admit they did not like me at first and like them MS did not like me when he first met me, but I grew on him.

He became my confidant and would always calm me down when I got excited. He was a well educated man that served his country in the Marines, as a cop, and finally a lawyer. The business card brought back all these memories of a good man that the world lost year ago around this time. He was stricken ill while at work and never recovered. We will never see the man get up with his arthritic joints and try to simulate love making. Trust me, with him biting his lip and making sounds it was a riot. Along with that, he would tell of the horror stories with his ex-wives including the one who put cement in all the drains of the house. I would say, "MS you sure piss off people easy."

With that card, also brought back memories of two other people that died with in a week of MS. One, was a classmate from college that attend an Ivy League Business School and was very successful. She died at the age of 31 of breast cancer. The other friend was also a classmate of mine from college a young mother that was pregnant with her second child when she succumbed to the cancer. She was officially dead the day after MS, but was kept alive for the sake of her unborn child.

Shortly, after hearing and going through the emotions, I was running on a beautiful day and said out loud, "Fuck it." Life it to short to be like MS and let work kill you. You must be responsible and have your priorities straight that you must live life to the fullest. Be serious in your work, but don't allow it to consume you and most of all spend as much time with friends and family because you never now when that time will end.
